Health Behavior Determinants
Below, you can read my research paper about tanning bed usage among Caucasian teenagers in the United States. The paper was originally for a course called Determinants of Health Behavior. In the paper, I explore predisposing, enabling, and reinforcing factors that may have lead to the teenagers choosing to use indoor tanning and maintaining their behavior. I also included a possible intervention plan, using the MPOWER Model, to reduce this behavior. This paper was all-inclusive in exploring indoor tanning usage by Caucasian teenagers through the use of common models from Health Science. The models included the Health Behavior Model and the Socio-Ecological Model. The process of writing this paper showed me how to apply learned concepts from the classroom and apply them into a real-world problem.
